: I'm sure you are right, the 74161 around the strap field is 4-bit counters. I'll have to check the other cards in the machine to see if some are configured differently.

Strap field: I am pretty shure this sets the baud rate. Trimmer: I expect that was used for fine alignment of the baud rate. The teletypes typed rather strange if that was out of alignment. Steinhj 14/4-17

I'm sure you are right, the 74161 around the strap field is 4-bit counters. I'll have to check the other cards in the machine to see if some are configured differently.
