Describing manuals affected by the numbering change

I have a question about how to best write up a section for a currently missing document, ND Linker User Guide and Reference Manual, which changed its numbering scheme in the transition from .1 to .2 (or .2p, which is a prelim version that I have). I.e. from 60.289.1 to 860289.2p. It wouldn't be good to have two different sections I think, even if one is just referring to the other - particularly for this document, because the two versions have some important differences that it would be worth mentioning in the write-up. Thoughts? TArntsen 09:27, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Hmm. Group them together describing both documents, with their differences or two separate sections, each describing the difference between each other. The documentations lists have been "designed" as the needs have increased. Maybe it's time to do some rework? /Mike 19:56, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
I suggest that we treat the new numbering system just as the old, i.e. the ND-860289.2p should be read as ND-60.289.2p. Whenever we have more than one version of the same manual we should make a small note of the difference as I've done with this manual.
I also suggest that we move the 820026 manual to the Documentation list-Mixed hardware software section. I have some OpenLAN manuals that starts with 23.xxx that also should go into that section. With only one manual so far in that category it is hard to decide what to call the 20.xxx group so I think we just leave it with the number.--Gandalf 07:21, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
