@CREATE-VOLUME <volume name>, <device name> [, <unit>]

Create a new volume on magnetic tape. A volume is a labelled collection of files recorded on a reel of magnetic tape according to the ANSI standard.

<volume name>
name to be written to the tape reel (maximum 6 alphanumeric characters).
<device name>
choose MAG-TAPE-1 or MAG-TAPE-2.
<unit>
number of magnetic tape station. Legal only if the system has more than one unit.

Rules:

  1. Permitted for all users.

Example:

@CREATE-VOLUME LABEL1, M-T-1, 1

The volume named "LABEL1" is created on MAG-TAPE-1, unit 1.
