ND-511 Serial 34302
This ND 511 (a CDC 9427H cartridge disc drive) serial number 34302 was given to me in the summer of 2015 by LUDD, the computer club at Luleå University. I also received a couple of loose cartridges.
Description
The disk is mounted in a pedestal so according to the manual it should weigh 109 kg. Good thing it has wheels too. It was originally installed in November 1978. It lacks the front door and one of the side panels and the age shows in scratches on the outside and there are some missing lamps and covers on the front. But the inside looks great, no visible damage to the fixed disk or other components.
Current status
The system resides in the ND-Collection in Umeå. It's operational status isn't known and hasn't been tested yet.
Plans
I will try to get the disk up and running to make backups of the media I got.
