Number of drives supported?

Does anyone know if this controller supports more than one drive? Norsk Data Document ND–11.015.1 FLOPPY DISK CONTROLLER - 3027 seems to indicate that the necessary bits (registers and so on) are there for four drives, but doesn't say if the controller supports more than one drive. --Torfinn 08:35, 5 February 2013 (CET)

Well, the Command Word description (on page 17) describes using bits 6 and 7 to select unit 0/1/2/3, just as for the 3106/3112 (which can definitely handle four units), so presumably the 3027 can do this too. When that's said, I can't remember with certainty anymore if I saw more than one.. but I vaguely recall that full-size rack versions of ND computers always had two floppy drives. But the only ones I remember for sure are the newer 3112-based ones, which always had one 8" and one 5 1/4" drive attached (the satellites and office variants were different). And of course there could also be two controller cards in the machine, with device IDs set to 1560 and 1570 respectively. --TArntsen 12:40, 12 February 2013 (CET)
